Happy Mother’s Day! On this special day, I want to thank my Mom and my husband’s Mom for all their love and support through the years. I hope someday when I grow up, I can be as good a Mom as you two are to me. All mother’s are different and wonderful in their own ways. Mothers have the best (though riskiest) job on Earth. Here’s my poem in honor of Mothers everywhere:
Motherhood is the business of forming rare pearls,
They once were just sand, plain and simple and gritty.

I started the Angels series thinking it would be nice to write about inspiring people who truly deserve our hero-worship, instead of Hollywood celebrities who mostly get it.

Here’s my son (several years ago when he was still cute and cuddly like a puppy…not big and smelling of B.O. and Axe at the same time. How is that possible?)
He wasn’t too excited to have this picture taken. I don’t know if it was the costume I made him wear, or the fact that I was keeping him from important things like his army men who were lined up in battle formations all over the kitchen floor…but he was surly!
“Are we done yet? Can I go? Can I take this goofy rag off and give it to Ginger to eat?”
