It’s a new year & I made a Favorites list for 2019.
I read 82 books, 14 of which were re-reads. There were some amazing books published this year that made my heart so happy (note: not all books I read were published in 2019).
So without further ado, let’s get to the good stuff.
- My Top 20 list.
- Honorable mention list.
- My re-read list.
These are not in any order–as my favorites change week by week. And there were many other 5-star rated books I read that didn’t make this list…but were awesome, still the same. I just narrowed down to my favorite of the favorites. Continue reading
From Sarah M. Eden, the USA Today Bestselling author of the Longing for Home series, LONG JOURNEY HOME is a new romance novel set in the beloved world of Hope Springs.
Widowed by war, Maura O’Connor has raised her son alone under the weight of poverty in the unforgiving slums of New York City. That harsh and difficult life has taken a toll on them both. Desperate to save her son from the misery around them, she moves them both to the tiny western town of Hope Springs, where her late husband’s family lives, hoping that the decade of silence between them does not mean she and Aidan will be rejected outright. Her son needs family, and she would endure anything to see him happy.
Ryan Callaghan has worked the land belonging to the late Granny Claire for years, dreaming of one day claiming it as his own. Living in his brother’s home affords him no freedom, no stability, no joy. The arrangement is even harder on his mother, whose health is quickly deteriorating. A risky investment in the land has finally begun to pay off, and he is at last in a position to secure a better future for them both. When use of the home is, without warning, offered to a newly arrived widow and her son, that future is entirely uncertain. Continue reading
This is the BEST series I’ve read in forever! Seriously. I devoured these books on Kindle Unlimited and could see myself checking them out again in the future. They are THAT fun!
The House of Oak series by Nichole Van has 5 books. Each was incredible. Read them in order. This is not a read-out-of-order series. You’ll miss out on delicious literary delights if you do. This author makes my reader heart and eyes happy. The cadence, rhythm, and layout are ingredients that combine to make a happy dance in my heart. Continue reading
Thought I’d throw out some first line fun today. I love reading, but I always savor first lines in a book. It sets the mood and gets me excited (or not).
See how good you can guess for the following three sets of books which first line matches which book. I’ll put up five at a time. GO!!! Continue reading

Yea! I’ve been so excited to share this new book from Sariah Wilson. It’s incredible! I hope you get to read this one, because it will make you swoon, laugh, and tear up. It’s one of the best I’ve read for months! [GIVEAWAY goes until Feb 8th–see end of post for details] Here’s the blurb:
“You’ve done better.”
With one uncharacteristically sassy tweet to her longtime celebrity crush, Zoe Miller’s life turns upside down. Ultrahot A-lister Chase Covington doesn’t just respond to Zoe’s tweet, he does the unthinkable: he messages Zoe directly. Now she must decide between walking away or meeting her crush in person.
Chase knows better than to trust anyone from the Internet, but Zoe’s saucy challenge has totally caught his interest—and her girl-next-door personality is keeping it. He’s been burned enough to know he needs to keep his heart close. But his feelings for Zoe might be a lot more than just an online flirtation. He just has to convince her… Continue reading
Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. So is eating. And they sort of rhyme…hence my title today. Readin’ is eatin’ for my mind and heart. And I really like how reading calories don’t make me gain weight (unless I throw M&M or some other chocolate into the mix, then all bets are off). Since I haven’t posted for a while, I thought I’d do a quick review of the reading I’ve done this last month…and why.
Daddy Long Legs – This was one of my favorite books as a young teen girl. I’d kind of forgotten the plot, so I reread it (since classics are free on my Kindle)…and I thoroughly loved it! The way the author tells the story through Judy’s letters all through college to her mysterious donor is lovely (and funny too). Continue reading
