More Book Love

huckleDoesn’t this picture make you salivate? It does me.  And it goes right along with my new book, Game Changer. Huckleberry ice cream plays a huge part in Meridee’s and Parker’s friendship-turning-into-more relationship. Ice cream usually does help any romance along, at least in my opinion. And this one, from Ferdinand’s Ice Cream Shop in Pullman, Washington, looks especially divine. My cookie/ice cream/chocolate monster appears, and I say: ME WANT SOME!!!

The book monster inside me has been especially happy as well with all the kind reviews being left about Game Changer. If you haven’t written a book before, you might not get an author’s fascination over reviews. But let me tell you. We crave them. Like Cookie Monster craves cookies. Like I know you’re craving that huckleberry ice cream. We are consumed with getting book love with good reviews, because if we don’t, our book just sits there. Unseen. Uneaten. Unloved. And that’s sad.

So thank you again for all of you who are leaving reviews. You are satisfying the book monster inside of me and making me feel happy. Here are a couple more reviews I really enjoyed over the weekend.

This story transported me back to my college days as I could vividly see the characters and their exchanges in my mind as I read. Stastny has a way of writing that sucks you in and keeps you wanting more until the very end.”  (Marcy, Amazon customer)

From the foreword to the finale, the reader can’t help but fall in love with the layered and lovable characters, Parker and Meridee and all of their friends. Stastny brings her best writing into this expertly woven tale about love, self-confidence, and the importance of ‘knowing thyself.’ I absolutely loved the small details and subtle metaphors – it brought the characters and scenes to life and left me with a feeling of hope, gratitude, and resolve. I’ve read all of the author’s books and this one is my favorite!” (Michelle, Amazon customer)

I loved this book! The dialogue was fun and witty. The characters were so real and likable. The connection between Parker and Meridee was full of spark but still very clean. The romance was also very real and very believable. I will definitely be reading the next two books in the series.” (Nari, Amazon customer)

Thanks again for all the book love. It’s sweet…just like huckleberry ice cream. Yum.

  1. You are getting fabulous reviews, Charissa! I’m so happy for you.
I’ve never had huckleberry ice cream, but I am now dying to try some.

    • Thanks. And you’ll have to try it sometime. The best I ever had was when I picked fresh ones up in Idaho and would put them over vanilla ice cream. Such happiness!!!
