The Capture

TheCapture_CVR_MEDWoohoo! I just finished another awesome, thrilling book. This one is not my normal gushy romance that I adore, but wow! it was still amazing. There’s still romance in it, but tons of action, adventure, torture, bombs, threats, running for your lives…you get the picture. If you’re a scaredy cat, this book isn’t for you. Well, maybe it is, because I’m a total scaredy cat, and I still loved it. It’s not haunted house or freaky demon scary….just thrilling, on-the-edge-of-your-seat action and suspense. I can take that kind of scary. Here’s the blurb:

Julian Bennet, head of Griffin Force, finally finds love with Zaya Altes, but the day he buys her an engagement ring, international terrorist Nazer al-Raimi abducts her. Getting her back consumes him, yet it takes nearly six months to find her. The daring mission to extract her from a hidden prison in Afghanistan is successful, but Zaya has suffered during captivity. Though she’s grateful to Julian for breaking her out, she wants nothing to do with him. Before he can show her how much he still loves her, Nazer finds them and vows revenge. Can Julian keep Zaya safe and still stop Nazer once and for all?

Zaya Altes nearly gave up hope of ever being rescued, but when Griffin Force finally finds her, returning to life is harder than she imagined. While her feelings for Julian are as strong as ever, she feels too broken to recapture what they once had. Instead, Zaya jumps at a chance to trap Nazer, wanting vengeance for what she’s endured. As the final showdown draws near, however, Zaya will have to make an unimaginable choice to let Nazer close to her again. But when a shocking web of betrayal is uncovered in their own ranks, their one chance to capture him is compromised. Julian and Zaya will put everything on the line, but can they survive this ultimate test and finally reach for their chance at happiness?

My Review

Wow! Intense suspense. I loved the characters in this one (Zaya and Julian). They are super kick-butt amazing people. This romantic action-packed suspense really kept me burning through the pages. The emotional heart ripping and tugging along with the action-filled plot with terrorists, double agents, and life-in-jeopardy moments made it hard to breathe until I finished. I highly recommend this fast-paced, super captivating (literally and plot wise) book. The author did an amazing job, and I couldn’t put it down once I started. I’d rate it a 5 all across the board (Amazon, Goodreads, and my Sweet Scale). It really delved deep into PTSD and what these soldiers that protect our country from terrorist threats really go through.

  1. I rarely read this type of book as well, but this one sounds amazing! I’m a scaredy cat too, but I can handle thrilling suspense. Throw in a crazy serial killer or demons and I’m OUT.

  2. I’ve seen so many (typical hollywood) movies recently that have absolutely nothing going for them and I wonder why no one picks up on these fantastic books to make them into movies. This one sounds awesome.
