The Highwayman of Cordovia

Here’s another book review from my author friend, Linda Weaver Clarke. This is the second in a series, and takes place back when there were swashbuckling men and brave women engaged in daring and romantic adventures. It’s a creative take on Robin Hood with the clear-cut good versus evil theme and some romance weaved into it.

Rebels of Cordovia webIn The Rebels of Cordovia, a group of men and women who called themselves Robin’s Rebels realize they must help the people survive oppression. As they battle for freedom, a love story blossoms between Daniel, the leader of the Freemen, and Robin, the leader of the rebels who disguises herself as a man as she seeks justice and freedom. Daniel tries to recruit Robin’s Rebels but they refuse. Now he has to find a way to convince them. When he finds out the leader is actually a woman, what will his reaction be?

highwaymanwebIn the second book, the fight to hold onto freedom and justice continues. With the help of a bold highwayman and a pastor’s daughter, they try to save their country from being taken over by a power-hungry leader. As they strive to stop the Kingmen and thwart their plans, Christine finds herself falling in love with Austin Knight. The only problem is that she thinks he is her knight in shining armor instead of a highwayman. When she finds out his trade, will love override her values?

My Review

3yumThis sweet romance had action and intrigue, mysteries to solve, and villains to thwart. The characters were fun to join in their adventures and I liked how Robin and Daniel from the first book worked their way into this one so I could see what life was like for them after their ‘happily ever after’. I’d rate it a solid 4 on both Amazon and Goodreads and a 3 on my highly critical Sweet Scale. It was yummy and I read it quickly. Linda has written a lot of great, clean books over the years, and this one’s a delight like the others.

If you’d like to check out the Amazon links, I’ve included them below. And here’s the LINK to Linda’s author website so you can check out more about her books and read her bio. Hope your December is merry and bright.

Happy reading.
